Sea and Stone Waterford Coastline

30.00

A book of photographs and text celebrating the 100 mile long coastline of County Waterford,  through 175 pages and containing over 200 photographs. It will cover the coastline from Dunmore East to Ferry Point, exploring natural history, geology, history, poetry and the Irish language heritage of Ring. There will be reflections from people living and making a living on the coast, with an emphasis on female artists. There will be short accounts of shipwreck drawn from the British Library Provincial Newspaper Archive. The authors have worked in close collaboration with the Copper Coast Geopark. The  book will also draw attention to the vulnerability of the coastline due to climate change, erosion and loss of biodiversity.

Paddy Dwan and Mark Roper have worked on the book for 5 years and have published 3 previous books about the County of Waterford: The River Book, 2010, The Backstrand, 2013, and Comeragh, 2018. These books have been very well received, with copies having made their way all over the world. Sea and Stone will complete a quartet of unique books which have made a significant contribution to the awareness of the richness of the natural history of  County Waterford.
